Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been named NetScouts Basketball Men’s International Player of the Week games through February 25th for the second time this season. The Canadian freshmen averaged 16 points, 7.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds for the week on 55.5 percent shooting from the field and 66 percent from three. In Kentucky’s win over Arkansas (87-72) Alexander had 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds. In the win over Missouri (87-66) Alexander had another solid outing when he put up 14 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed five rebounds.
For the fourth time this season Oregon State senior Marie Gulich has been named NetScouts Basketball International Women’s Player of the Week, this time for games through February 25th. In the Beavers easy win over Arizona (65-40) Gulich scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. In a come from behind win at Arizona State the senior from Germany scored a career high 36 points, including 30 points in the second half, shooting 13-of-13 in the half leading Oregon State to a 64-60 victory. Gulich had an astounding week. She averaged 28 points and nine rebounds, shooting 26-of-30 from the field (87 percent).
