Quick twitch reactionary athleticism that shows up defensively guarding on ball. Not an outstanding vertical athlete but has good burst and raw speed. Athletic build for his age with apparent above average length.

Shooting

Essentially a non-shooter currently from the midrange or three-point levels. Form isn’t broken, just doesn’t look comfortable.

Position and offense

Purely a straight-line slasher at this stage with a plus burst and first step combination to get into the lane. Flashes as a passer with drop-offs. Needs to develops a jump shot and more advanced ball skills.

Defense and rebounding

Outstanding on-ball defender who can mirror ball-handlers and apply pressure with his lateral quickness and active hands. Shows plus instincts racking up steals in passing lanes.

Miscellaneous

Didn’t see a lot of playing time at Nations, but showcased horizontal athleticism especially in small doses.

Mid-High Division 1. Kirkwood’s skill level and floor game have some catching up to do with his physical tools, but he has the baseline build to be a mid level rotation player on a mid to high D1 team.
