NetScouts Basketball has helped organize and administer the National Prep School Invitational for over a decade. The event, held each February at Rhode Island College in Providence is the oldest running prep school tournament in the country, having just completed its 21st year.
The event generally features over 30 prep schools including international participation. We generally have about five Canadian schools each year and we’ve featured teams from the Czech Republic. Finland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Ireland. Over 1,000 players at the event have gone on to get NCAA Division 1 scholarships. Over 50 players who participated in the event have gone o to the NBA including Andrew Wiggins, Donovan Mitchell, Steven Adams, Shabazz Napier, Anthony Bennett, Noah Vonleh, Nik Stauskas, Michael Carter-Williams, Jamal Murray, Thon Maker, Jonathan Issac and Kyle Kuzma.
In 2018 we helped start another prep school event, the Caribbean Tip-off Classic in Nassua, Bahamas. The event featured 15 schools from the Bahamas, Canada, Finland and the USA. USA schools that participated were Brewster Academy, St. Thomas More, Putnam Science Academy and Redemption Christian Academy. The event will next take place on November 1-3, 2019.
We’ve also taken 15 men’s and women’s teams to China to play in tournaments against national teams. The events generally feature nine games in a round-robin format in three cities. Besides China we’ve played against teams from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Lithuania, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Italy and Hungary.
We also have conducted international camps in Prague, Czech Republic with Get Better Academy, Hungary (Vasas Academy), Brazil (Sao Paulo) and also in Turkey in association with Five Star Basketball. Although we currently are not organizing any new camps internationally we are looking forward to doing so in the future..
