Yuqing (Guizhou), China – The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars swept the games in Yuqing with a come from behind 62-53 win over host China to go to 6-0 on the China tour. The gaes was played before another full house in the Four Nations International Youth Tournament..
The Americans defeated the Chinese in a hostile environment to stay undefeated during the tour. The USA All-Stars fell behind in the first half by as many as seven points, but went on a late run to pull ahead 25-18 at the halftime break. However, China made a run of their own to start the second half to regain the lead by five at the end of the third period, but it wouldn’t last for very long. The Americans would go on to outscore China by 14 in the fourth quarter to claim the nine-point victory, using stifling ball pressure up top and dominating the boards down low.
The USA All-Stars had a balanced attack tonight, as Taylor Proctor lead the way with 11 points. Jamee Swan was named MVP of the Yuqing portion of the Tour, after averaging 10 points and 8 rebounds for the three games against Poland, New Zealand, and China. Swan was limited op twelve minutes of action tonight due to foul trouble. The USA’s defense was solid limiting the Chinese to 23 percent shooting from two-point range and only 25 percent (6-of-24) from long-distance.
All the teams have an off-day tomorrow as they travel to the final city, Weng’an, which is less than a hour away.
