The NetScouts Basketball USA Men’s All-Stars held off a pesky and determined Latvian team 63-58.
Mike Moore led the USA off the bench with 12 points while Devin Sweetney led the team with 14 points. Robert Crawford also helped off the bench with 8 points. Moore and Crawford sparked a 10-2 run at the end of the 3rd quarter to help put the USA up for good.
The USA’s defense was sharp all night holding the Latvians to 33% from two-point range and 16% on three-pointers. The USA came up with nine steals and forced 15 turnovers.
The Latvian team will compete in July in Estonia for the under 20 European Championships. The USA moves to 3-5 in the event.
In the final game of the tour China was efficient on both ends of the court and easily topped the USA All-Stars 76-59. The USA All-Stars finished 3-6 for the event, losing three games by two points in heartbreaking fashion. We had two late cancellations and would have done better if those players had honored their commitments. The team will be heading home tomorrow.
