NetScouts Basketball will be returning to China this week for a series of Men’s and a Women’s tournaments.
The Men’s team will play teams from China, Lithuania and Germany in a 3-city, 9-game round robin format. The roster of the Men’s team is: Brian Addison (Buffalo/Portugal), Tyler Cain (South Dakota/Latvia), Lance Jeter (Nebraska/Holland), LaMarcus Reed (Texas-Arlington), Orion Outerbridge (Rhode Island), Lamonte Ulmer (Rhode Island/Luxembourg), Anthony Gurley (Massachusetts/New Zealand), Taj McCullough (Winthrop/D-League/Australia). Adam Waddell (Wyoming) and Marquis Jones (Rhode Island/Germany).
The Women will be playing in a three-game Pre-Olympic event, called the Four Nations Tournament, against the Olympic teams of China, Russia and Australia. They will then head to a second city and play a series of games against the Chinese National “B” team.
The women’s roster consists of: Katie Bussey (Montana State), Dawn Evans (James Madison/Connecticut Sun), Ashley Corral (USC/Seattle Storm), Jence Rhoads (Vanderbilt/Iceland), Brittany Carter (Memphis/Connecticut Sun), Becky Burke (Louisville), Briana Gilbreath (USC/Washington Mystics), Amanda Johnson (Oregon), Kristina Santiago (Cal Poly), Cierra Bravard (Florida State/San Antonio Silver Stars), Becca Tobin (Arizona State/Romania) and Kali Bennett (Arizona State).
Most of these games will be televised nationally throughout China and will be played in front of capacity crowds of 5,000 to 10,000.
It’s a great opportunity for the players on our teams to get noticed and possibly be offered contracts to play in China or other countries. Check back each day as we will be reporting daily on the games and our experiences in China. See you soon!
Hi,
I was wonder if there was still roster room for the China Tour. If so or for other basketball event I will recommend Antwi Atuahene(pg). Antwi played at Arizons State and professionally in Lebanon, Mexico, and South America. He also just recently came back from China in May 2012 participating in another Chinese Basketball Tour. Where he was MVP. Clips of the China Tour is on YouTube. Please search (Antwi Atuahene china tour).
Contact me via email for more information on this great basketball player and opportunity.
