Our men’s team has arrived in China after the 12-hour flight from Los Angeles to Guangzhou. The team then flew to Chongqing City where they stayed the night. This morning there was a four-hour bus ride to Kai County where the first three games will be played starting tomorrow.
One of our opponents will be the Canadian Development National Team which is comprised of many star NCAA players. Kevin Pangos of Gonzaga will start at the point backed up by ACC Freshman of the Year Olivier Hanlan of Boston College. Brady Heslip of Baylor, Justin Edwards of Maine, Daniel Mullings of New Mexico State and Laurent Rivard of Harvard will man the off guard. The forwards include Manny Arop of Indiana State by way of Gonzaga, Kyle Wiltjer of Kentucky and Dwight Powell of Stanford. 7’2 Jordan Bachynski of Arizona State will man the middle.
The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars will depend on their depth and experience in playing the Canadians and the national teams of China and Latvia. The USA will feature three players from the NBL of Canada, making the games against Canada intriguing match-ups. All three players played for the Moncton Miracles. Oliver McNally was one of the top point guards in the league, Devin Sweetney was the MVP and leading scorer and Isaac Butts was the rookie of the year and leading rebounder.
The first series of three games will start on the evening of June 8th China time. We’ll be reporting the results each night after play.

Hi, my son is finishing 10th grade this year and he is a great play-maker. We live in the Dominican Republic but he attends an American school. (English not a problem) We will be in New York City this summer and would like to contact some coaches…He is able to use both hands equally well.
