9:00 – Mont Clare Academy (PA) (52) vs GB Academy (Czech Republic) (51)
Point guard Rashaan DeJarnette led Mont Clare to the one-point win with 11 points, four assists and four steals. Mont Clare scored with 1.5 seconds left to get the win after Yeygen Shaknuik gave GB Academy the lead with 25 seconds left. Shaknuik continued his strong play with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Kristaps Gluditas added 16 points, connecting on 4-of-10 three’s, and added five rebounds and four assists.
10:30 – Canarias Basketball Academy (Spain) (61) vs St. Thomas More (CT) (70)
6’7 Yuta Watanabe (Japan) scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds to help St. Thomas More to the win. Watanabe, a skilled lefty point forward will choose between Fordham and George Washington this week. Calvin Crawford (Manhattan) added 15 points and Eric Paschall (Fordham) scored 14 points. Point guard Simon Krajcovic (Canarias) hit three quick three-pointers early in the second half and finished with 25 points, five assists and three steals.
12:00 – Vermont Academy (VT) (73) vs Brewster Academy (NH) (114)
Brewster Academy showed why they are the top-rated team in New England with a rout over a decent Vermont Academy team. Davonte Graham scored 17 first-half points on the way to a game-high 25 points (6-of-8 3PT). 6’8 Isaac Copeland (Georgetown) added 23, strong off-guard Jared Terrell (Oklahoma State) 14 points, nine assists and 6’8 junior Jarred Reuter, 13 points and ten rebounds. 6’3 junior Donovan Mitchell had eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists in limited minutes. Christian Vital led Vermont with 18 points on 4-of-10 three-pointers and dished out five assists.
1:30 – Tilton (NH) (93) vs Northfield Mt Hermon (MA) (79)
Terance Mann and Franklin Porter both scored 20 points as Tilton took a 25-point lead and coasted to the win. Porter (from Portland, OR) hit 4-of-7 three-pointers and pulled down six rebounds to be named NetScouts Basketball’s Player of the Game. Point guard Daquon Ervin (NMH) had another solid game with 24 points while 6’8 Aaron Falzon added 14 points and ten rebounds.
3:00 – West Oaks Academy Post Grad (FL) (73) vs 22 FT Academy (SC) (81)
Marcus Lewis scored 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting to give 22 FT Academy their second straight win in the tournament. Point guard Brandon Chauca added 19 points and nine assists while Jamar Ergas had another solid game with 18 points and seven assists. Zach Rumph led West Oaks with 24 points.
4:30 – West Oaks Academy High School (FL) (57) vs Bill Crothers Secondary School (Canada) (61) – Jamal Thomas scored 28 points to lead Bill Crothers to an impressive first showing at the NPSI. Sidy Nidr led West Oaks with 16 points while Anas Osama had 13 points and nine rebounds.
