Day three brought us eight games, several of which went down to the wire. 6’7 Devon Hayes scored 18 points as Mont Clare (PA) topped Winchendon 58-55. St. John’s Northwest Military Academy (WI) beat Marianopolis (CT) 61-52 with 6’8 Aaron Ross continuing his excellent play with 21 points and five rebounds. Ross is one of the top undeclared players at the event.
6’8 junior Andrew Chrabascz led Cushing Academy with 20 points on 9-of-12 from the field as they beat New Hope (MD) 77-70. Treaven Duffy and Tyler McFarland (Bentley) added 18. Vermont Academy ran away from REDA (Ontario) 89-74. Five players scored in double-figures for Vermont led by juniors Doquein McNeil (19) and 6’9 Dominic Woodson (19). Siena recruit Richard Audu led all scorers with 28 points.
Bridgton Academy (ME) edged Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) 72-69 as Darrick Wood (St. John’s) (21) and Marcus Crider (20) combined for 41 points. Ethan O’Day (Vermont) hit 9-of-11 from the field to lead NMH with 21 points. Xavier recruit Myles Davis scored 24 points to lead Notre Dame Prep to an easy 67-49 win over La Jolla Prep. Davis connected on 5-of-6 from long distance.
Canarias Academy (Spain) beat New Hampton (NH) in an overtime thriller 84-77 behind 19 points and some key baskets from player of the game 6’4 Latvian Oskars Reinfeld. Reinfeld has impressed us with his toughness and versatility during the event. Canarias had five players in double figures.
In the last game of the day Westwind Prep (AZ) edged Maine Central 73-72 as 6’3 Latvian Arturs Bremers scored 23 points including six three-pointers.
