Udoka Azubuike of the University of Kansas has been named NetScouts Basketball Men’s International Player of the Week for games through February 18th. The 7-foot Nigerian led the Jayhawks to wins over Iowa State (83-77) and West Virginia (77-69). Against Iowa State, Azubuike had 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting with three rebounds and three blocks. Against West Virginia, he had 21 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the field while adding five rebounds and three blocks. For the week he averaged 20 points, four rebounds and three blocks while shooting 88.8 percent from the field.
Marie Gulich of Oregon State has been named the NetScouts Basketball International Player of the Week for games through February 18th. This is her third Player of the Week honor this year. The German center dominated in the Beavers’ two win this week over USC and UCLA. She did a little bit of everything in the 69-63 win over USC. She scored 25 points to go along with nine rebounds, four blocks, three assists and a pair of steals. She then lead her team to another big victory over No. 10 ranked UCLA. She scored 24 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and added three blocks. For the week Gulich averaged 24.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks while shooting 68.9 percent from the floor.
