Chenzhou, China – The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars (4-2) scored 28 straight points coming out of halftime to trounce China 82-58 before 3,413 fans in Chenzhou. The USA All-Stars turned a 34-29 halftime lead into a 62-29 lead. They held China scoreless in the third quarter until the last forty seconds. Anthony Young led the winners with 15 points and added seven rebounds. Center Devin White chipped in a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.
After taking a 62-34 lead into the fourth quarter, the USA All-Stars coasted to the win eventually extending their lead to 82-48 before China scored the last ten points of the game. The USA was strong on the boards throughout the contest, out-rebounding China 48-35 including a +6 advantage on the offensive end. They held China to 36 percent shooting from two-point range and to 30 percent from long distance. They also only committed only nine turnovers to 15 for China.-
Lithuania topped Italy 72-65 in Guiyang tonight. The Lithuanians (5-1) currently lead the competition with the USA (4-2), China (2-4) and Italy (1-5) as the competition shifts to Yueyang after a travel day tomorrow.
