The All-Tour team for our China tour has been announced. Seven teams participated in the tour including two separate Chinese teams as well as teams from Australia, Slovenia, Denmark and New Zealand in addition to the undefeated (9-0) NetScouts Basketball USA squad.
All-Tour Team
Co- MVP: Ariel Thomas, 5’8, PG, USA (Oregon)
Thomas was the MVP of the Jiujiang tournament and averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.8 steals over the nine games. She also was named to the All-Tournament team in Nan’an.
Co- MVP: Joy Burke, 6’5, C, USA (Arizona State)
Burke played well through all three tournaments. She averaged 10.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.0 block She was the MVP in Nan’an and was on the All-Tournament Teams in both Shenzhen and Jiujiang.
1st Team
1. Molly Schlemer, 6’5, C, USA (Cal-Poly)
Schlemer averaged 9.9 points and 6.7 rebounds while being named All-Tournament in two of three locations. She scored 14 points and grabbed 11 boards in the title game in Nan’an against China.
2. Maria Jespersen, 6’0, F, Denmark
Jespersen, headed to South Florida in the fall, was All-Tournament in Shenzhen where she averaged 16 points per game.
3. Alexandra Sharp, 6’2, F, Australia
Sharp was the top player on the Aussie squad and their leading rebounder. She was solid in Nan’an and scored 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds in the Australia win over Slovenia.
4. Sijing Huang, 6’3, PF, China
Huang was the leading scorer for the Chinese in Nan’an and Jiujiang averaging 13 points per game to go along with four rebounds.
5. Amber Moore, 5’11, SF, USA
Moore was the MVP of the Shenzhen tournament and scored and 90 points (10.0 pg) with 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists for the undefeated Americans.
Team in Hong Kong
2nd Team
1. Larisa Ocvirk, 6’2, SF, Slovenia
Ocvirk was the leading scorer on the Slovenian team, She had a 17 point, five rebound, four assist, two steal effort against the USA and averaged 13 points over the three games in Nan’an.
2. Krystal Leger-Walker, 5’8, PG, New Zealand.
Leger-Walker was the top player on the Ferns team. She led her team in assists and steals while scoring nine points per game.
3. Amy Kame, 5’11, G, USA
A solid all-around player for the Americans who averaged 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and, 2.8 steals for the tour. She made the All-Tournament Team in Shenzhen and had 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and five steals vs. the Aussies in the last stop.
4. Anna Seilund, 5’8, G, Denmark
Headed to the University of San Francisco on the fall, Seilund scored 11 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists against the Americans and averaged 12 ppg in Shenzhen.
5. Tahlia Tupaea, 5’9, PG, Australia
Tupaea was a key player for Aussies especially after two of their starters were injured. She picked up her scoring in Jiujiang with two 15-point games and an All-Tournament selection.
