Jiujiang, China – The All-Tournament team has been announced for the tournament held in Jiujiang, China between the USA (3-0), Australia (2-1), China (1-2) and Slovenia (0-3).
The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars have returned home from the successful trip. We’ll be posting the All-Event team comprising the three tournaments later today.
Jiujiang All-Tournament Team
MVP: Ariel Thomas, USA (Oregon)
Thomas made her second straight All-Tournament team. She averaged 11.3 points per game and led the USA to the title in the final game over China with 16 points.
1. Molly Schlemer, USA (Cal-Poly)
Schlemer averaged 11.3 points and seven rebounds in helping the undefeated Americans to the title. She came up with 16 points and eight rebounds against Slovenia..
2. Tahlia Tupaea, Australia
Tupaea picked up her scoring in Jiujiang. She scored 15 points in a loss to the USA and also scored 15 points in the upset win over host China.
3. Joy Burke, USA (Arizona State)
Burke played well through all three tournaments. In Jiujiang she averaged ten points and five rebounds and came up with three blocked shots against China, helping the Americans dominate the inside.
4. Sijing Huang, China
Huang was the leading scorer for the Chinese at 13 points per game.
5. Larisa Ocvirk, Slovenia
Ocvirk had a 15 point, six rebound effort against Australia and averaged 13 points over the three games. This is her second straight Al-Tournament selection.
