Jiujiang, China – Before an announced crowd of 2,000 in the Olympic Sports Center Complex in Jiujiang, the NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars jumped out to a 25-8 lead and never looked back in beating Slovenia 88-45. Amy Kame had ten points in the first half and finished with 14, while Molly Schlemer poured in 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the American squad.
In all, five players scored in double figures including Tabitha Gerardot (14 points), Joy Burke (11 points, 8 boards), and Amber Moore (10 points). Camille Buckley continued her stellar rebounding with nine rebounds to accompany her six points and Ariel Thomas had another good all-around game scoring eight, grabbing six rebounds, dishing three assists, and taking four steals from the Slovenian guards.

Gerardot got the American perimeter game going after their two-day layoff, when Ari Wideman found her at the top of the key for a three in the second quarter. Deja Mann got the American highlight reel fast break started in the second half with a beautiful assist soon followed by a steal and another assist, this one to Joy Burke. Like Thomas, Alisha Filmore had an excellent all-around second half by scoring all six of her points in the fourth quarter and grabbing three boards to go along with two assists and two steals.
In all, the Americans had 21 steals and out rebounded Slovenia 48-27. The American defense was again strong holding the blue Balkan team to just 16-of-52 shooting and 30 percent. Larisa Ocvirk scored 15 and pulled down six rebounds for Slovenia.
The Slovenians will play host China in the first game tomorrow night followed by the Americans against Australia.

In game one, Australia jumped out to an early lead on China thanks to six quick points by Bridget O’Brien, played phenomenal team defense and dominated China on the boards to win 67-50.
The Aussies held a 50-20 rebound margin over the host team. China attempted more than twice the foul shots of the Aussies but Australia made big shots, including two first half three’s by Taylor Ortlepp and sealed the win late with a quick 6-0 run with 5:00 to go in the game to put China away.
Alex Sharp is the second Aussie to come up injured (Rocci – ankle) as she hurt her shoulder and sat out much of the second half. O’Brien picked up the scoring slack by putting in 12 points and Tahlia Tupaea scored 13, her high game on this trip to lead the way. China was led by Sijing Huang who had 13 points and 4 rebounds and Yingzhu Wang with 14. 
Both teams are now 2-2 on the trip with the Americans leading at 4-0 (7-0 overall) and Slovenia is 0-4.
