The All-Tournament team from the Changshu portion of the NetScouts Basketball Women’s China Tour has been announced.
Changshu MVP
The MVP of this section of the tour was Alexis Gray-Lawson of the USA. Gray-Lawson came through when it counted for the USA in their tough overtime win over China. She made a key basket in overtime on an offensive rebound putting the USA up by two and then clinched the game with a steal and lay-in. After sitting out the first game of the final tournament Alexis averaged 11.5 points and five rebounds including 16 points and seven rebounds against China.
Changshu All-Tournament Team
Taleya Mayberry, USA. After getting poked in the eye and seeing limited minutes in the first game of this stop, Mayberry averaged 17 points in the last two games including scoring 20 points against Australia.
Xiaojia Chen, China. The 5’11 Chen came through with 20 points in China’s win over Australia. She averaged 14 points and 4.7 rebounds in the three games.
Chelsea Poppens, USA. The 6’2 forward had a double-double in the overtime win against China with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She averaged eight points and eight rebounds in the three games in Changshu.
Olivia Thompson, Australia. The 6’2 Thompson was consistent, averaging 14.7 points and six rebounds as she helped the Aussies to their second win of the tour against Hungary.
Tijana Kricacevic, Hungary. The 6’6 post was impressive throughout the tour and averaged 18 points and 8.5 rebounds in Changshu.
