Jock Landale of Saint Mary’s (CA) is the NetScouts Basketball International Men’s Player of the Week for games through January 14th. Landale continued his strong play by helping lead his team to wins over Santa Clara (81-57) and Pepperdine (91-67). The senior from Australia started the week strong with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and a pair of blocks in the win over Santa Clara. He followed that up with another stellar performance in the win over Pepperdine where he knocked down 13-of-15 shots for 32 points, to go along with 12 rebounds and four assists. On the week he averaged 25.5 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 assists on 77.7 percent shooting.
Marie Gulich of Oregon State University has been named NetScouts Basketball International Women’s Player of the Week for games through January 14th. The senior from Germany averaged 16.5 points with 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in wins over Arizona State (57-54) and Arizona (88-48). In the close victory over ASU, Marie put up 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting and added six rebounds. She followed that up with a solid performance in the blowout of Arizona where she earned her seventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. On the week, the German was efficient from the floor shooting 76.5 percent from the field and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.
