Ignas Brazdeikis, a 6-8 forward from Canada, currently at Orangeville Prep (Ontario) has committed to Michigan. Brazdeikis, a Top-50 2018 recruit chose the Wolverines over UConn, Florida, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and a host of other high majors. He was rated No. 4 of international recruits born in 1999 by NetScouts Basketball.
The Lithuanian- born Brazdeikis is a lefty and can put the ball in the hoop. At last year’s National Prep School Invitational he poured in 27 points in each of Orangeville’s two games and was named to the All-Tournament team. Orangeville will be back at the event in 2018 for another two games likely with Brazdeikis seeing action. In March he scored over 50 points twice in AAU contests. He figures to fit in as a “3” for Michigan but has the ability to play the 2″ through the “4”.
He has the option of reclassifying into the 2017 class but will likely remain in the 2018 class. Brazdeikis joins in-state recruits 4* PG David DeJulius, 4* PF Brandon Johns and 3* PF Taylor Currie in Michigan’s 2018 recruiting class.
