Ricky Rubio will play in Spain not NBA

Ricky Rubio could not get out of his insane $8.1 million buyout with his long-time club DKV Joventut of Spain and consequently will not be joining the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA. Rubio will reportedly sign with Regal Barcelona who has offered to pay Joventut $5.2 million for the rights to Rubio.  NBA teams, under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, are limited to paying $500,000 towards a players buyout clause. NBA Updates from FIBA & International Signings

Poland beat Israel 82-67 in a tournament in Saragossa behind a couple current or former NBA players.  Maciej Lampe (6'11 PF) led Poland with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Lampe was a NY Knicks draft pick who was later traded to the Phoenix Suns and also spent time with the New Orleans Hornets. Turkey - Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) guard Tarence Kinsey (South Carolina) has opted to sign with Euroleague and Turkish League contender Fenerbahce Ulker.  The 6'7 190 pound guard, Kinsey, played for Fenerbahce two years ago and enjoyed success with the team and brings NBA playoff experience back to Europe. UKRAINE BC Donetsk announced the re-signing of 6'7 245 Power Forward Chris Owens from Texas.  Owens is the great nephew of track and field star  Jesse Owens who won four gold medals in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.  Chris has also played for Alba Berlin in Germany. SPAIN
