As you know, we at NetScouts Basketball love the international game and enjoyed covering the Euroleague & FIBA guys in the recent NBA summer league in Las Vegas. The Spurs and Raptors have had their share of international players but these days everyone has a guy from overseas on their roster.
Jonas Jerebko (Pistons via Sweden): Nice athlete, good size at 6'10 and could easily add some weight without hurting his… Continue reading

Chris Denker, of Netscouts Basketball, is reporting live from summer league:
If you are evaluating on wins and losses the Toronto Raptors summer league performance has been disappointing with an 0-2 start. But if you are merely evaluating individuals and getting a look at your draft picks you can take away a few positives with those disappointments.
NBA veteran guard Quincy Douby has been a bright spot averaging over 18 points per game… Continue reading

Our Greek Basketball scout and guest blogger Dionysios Nikiforos has put together a wrap up of the recent NBA Draft focusing on the International players who were chosen and a few that went undrafted. (Thanks Dio! Chris Denker)
I’ll be the first to admit that this year’s draft was weak regarding international talent although basketball is becoming more popular and almost every NBA team has a foreign born player.… Continue reading

During the recent NBA Draft there was lots of activity involving international players, whether it was Minnesota drafting Ricky Rubio the Spanish Point Guard or the San Antonio Spurs finding a late 2nd Round gem in 6'5 Guard Nando De Colo. We also had the normal surprises, teams executing the 'draft and stash' practice of choosing a young International who will stay in Europe for a couple years, such as… Continue reading

It's always an exciting night for hoop fans. Even if you are a follower of college & not professional basketball, this is a night for you to check up on your favorite players and follow guys from your alma mater. In fact, if you follow it like I do, the whole week was great. Draft preview shows on NBA-TV and ESPN, and great coverage from Chad Ford, John Hollinger, and… Continue reading

There are some very good young international players (EuroLeague and EuroCup) in this draft and much like the overall draft pool, the strength appears to be in the Point Guard position. Certainly Ricky Rubio helps that cause but there are some very talented guys who can play in the NBA although it may be after another year or two in Europe. (Listed PG through C) Continue reading
