Jamont Gordon, the 6'4 225 Guard from Mississippi State, was named MVP for the Euroleague Top 16 (week 4), a great accomplishment in just his rookie EL season. He had an outstanding rating of 40.

"No one will give you anything, you have to earn it", Koreen said to her son when the little Levance started to cry of helplessness. Both used to play basketball at home, in one of those toy baskets, and Koreen didn't hesitate to defend and block her child's shots. She was trying to build strong character and pride inside Levance, both essential values to grow up and survive in a… Continue reading

Today we are going to use our NetScouts Basketball YouTube channel to post a video book review of Scott Peterman's e-book on International Basketball.
We've reviewed several of his e-books here before but this is one of the best he's produced in our opinion. He has set plays from CSKA Moscow, Regal Barcelona, Estudiantes, Hemofarm, Real Madrid, Efes Pilsen, and several other Euroleague and Eurocup teams.
As always, Men's Basketball Hoop Scoop… Continue reading

Here are the top players from EuroBasket 2009, who did not make the All-Tournament team, by positions with a brief scouting report for each player:
Point Guards
-- Tony Parker (France). San Antonio Spurs. 17.8 points, 4.4 assists, 1.8 steals.
The heart and soul of French team. Dangerous in the open court, he generated his team game from his drives to the rim. But, as past tournaments with his national team, he struggled… Continue reading

Turkey remains undefeated after beating Serbia 69-64 in the overtime of a very tight game full of mistakes and missed shots. Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova was the Turkish hero again with 21 points and 11 rebounds, balancing a night to forget for Hedo Turkoglu (1/16 from the field).
The youngster Serbians fought bravely against the best team of the tournament at the moment, but they couldn't find their game much… Continue reading

Spain made some major adjustments after a slow start in the Eurobasket 2009 and those moves apparently paid off as they beat Lithuania 84-70 in Poland. The Spanish team went the NBA connection route and started 5 players who've either played or been drafted in the NBA, Pau Gasol (NBA Champion Lakers), Juan Carlos Navarro (Memphis), Ricky Rubio (Minnesota, NBA Draft Pick), Jorge Garbajosa (Toronto Raptors), and Rudy Fernandez (Portland Trail… Continue reading

Today's guest blog post is written by NetScouts Basketball Scout Dionysios Nikiforos who has great knowledge of European basketball and specifically Greece.
Fast rewind: EuroBasket 2007, held in Spain was a wild tournament with exciting basketball, close games, crazy comebacks (most notable Greece completing a furious 14-1 to end the game against Slovenia in the quarterfinals) and a final that saw host Spain losing to a buzzer beater by… Continue reading
