First Round Picks
Shabazz Napier, Miami Heat: Napier continued to struggle with his jumper, shooting 2-of-13 from the field and 1-of-6 from three. He finished with seven points, five assists, and three rebounds. In four games Napier shot only 14-of-51 (27.4%) including 4-of-24 (16.7%) on three-pointers.
Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics: Smart led Boston with a game-high 19 points against Orlando. He needs to improve his efficiency, with a 5-of-14 display from the floor and 2-of-9 showing from deep, but he had clutch plays down the stretch. Smart added five assists and three rebounds.
Elfrid Payton, Orlando Magic: Payton stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. His jump shot is shaky, but he is a quality passer and rebounder at the point guard position.
Aaron Gordon, Orlando Magic: Gordon had his best day in Orlando with seven points and eight rebounds, but continued to struggle with his jump shot, shooting 1-of-6 from outside the painted area. He’s a high-energy defender who is still developing offensively.
Jordan Adams, Memphis Grizzlies: Following a poor showing in his last game, Adams scored 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He also contributed three rebounds and three steals. Most of his points came in transition where he finished at the basket despite his lack of athleticism.
Second Round Picks
Roy Devyn Marble, Orlando Magic: Marble struggled on Thursday and was held to just two points. He was 0-of-7 from the floor and 0-of-3 from behind, but did contribute eight rebounds.
Jarnell Stokes, Memphis Grizzlies: The active power forward continued his gritty play with 12 points and seven rebounds. His lengthy wingspan showed with a hook shot over a bigger defender.
Nick Johnson, Houston Rockets: Johnson had the best game of the day, scoring 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting. He showed his athleticism with a pair of soaring tip-ins while he was 6-of-8 from inside of the paint. Johnson can play either guard spot with success.
