Here is he remainder of NetScouts Basketball’s conference players of the week ending December 9, 2012.
Men: Doug McDermott, junior forward from Creighton, averaged 28.5 points in two games in wins over state rival Nebraska 64-42 and Akron 77-61. Creighton (#16) has one more game until conference play and Doug McDermott is one of the favorites to win national player of the year.
Women: Anna Munn, junior forward from Indiana State, averaged 19.5 points in two wins for the Sycamores in the week. Munn also averaged 5 rebounds last week.
Men: Chase Tapley, senior from San Diego State, averaged 19.5 points and 4 assists for the week. He also shot 8-for-12 on three-pointers and shot 56 percent from the field.
Women: Ashley Sickle, senior from Wyoming, averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds. Sickle had a season high 18 points against Montana as Wyoming won 58-56.
Men: Ed Daniel, senior forward from Murray State, averaged 22 points and 14.5 rebounds last week. Daniel so far this year has doubled his points and rebound average compared to last year.
Women: Mariah King, senior forward from Eastern Illinois, averaged 16 points and 7.5 rebounds for the week. King helped Eastern Illinois go over the .500 mark with two wins against Evansville 70-57 and Sacramento State 72-64.
Men: Mike Muscala, senior center from Bucknell, had 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists as Bucknell topped Kent State 76-60.
Women: Anna Simmers, senior guard from Army, averaged 16 points and shot 50% from the three point line last week.
Men: Jamal Crook, senior guard from Western Kentucky, averaged 17.5 points and 6 assists. Cook hit a clutch jump shot last week as Western Kentucky beat Southern Illinois 58-57.
Women: Taylor Gault, sophomore guard from Arkansas Little Rock, averaged 16.5 points and 4 rebounds in two UALR wins.
West Coast Conference
Men: Matthew Dellavedova, senior guard from Saint Mary’s had 31 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists as the Gaels beat Drake 88-73.
Women: Haiden Palmer, junior guard from Gonzaga, averaged 14.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in Gonzaga’s three wins last week.
Men: Tom Tankelewicz, junior forward from the Western Carolina Catamounts, had 19 points in a win against Appalachian State.
Women: Ashlen Dewart, junior forward from Chattanooga, had 19 points and 8 rebounds as Chattanooga beat Alabama 72-58.
Men: Taylor Braun, junior guard from North Dakota State, averaged 22.5 points in two wins for the Bison last week.
Women: Megan Waytashek, sophomore guard from South Dakota State, averaged 20 points and 4 rebounds last week.
