Doug McDermott, a 6’8 junior from Creighton is NetScouts Basketball’s Men’s National Player of the Week for games ending December 16th.
McDermott had 34 points and nine rebounds in a 74-64 win at Cal in his only game last week. He was 10-of-17 from the field, including 4-of-7 on three-pointers and was perfect (10-of-10) at the charity stripe. McDermott is third in the nation in scoring (23.7 ppg) and averages 6.9 rebounds for the 10-1 #17-ranked Blue Jays.
Hasina Muhammad, a 6’1 sophomore guard from Auburn is the NetScouts Basketball Women’s National Player of the Week for games ending December 16th. Muhammad averaged 18.5 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game in two Auburn wins.
She scored a career high 21 points in a 69-59 win at George Washington. She also grabbed ten rebounds and had nine steals in the contest. Muhammad followed that up with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks in a 71-49 home win over Temple. Muhammad is averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 steals for the 8-2 Tigers.
