Twins Alicia and Keely Froling, who we have covered in our International Recruiting Service since we faced them in a tournament in China two years ago, have signed with SMU. Alicia, a 6-2 forward, was ranked as Australia’s No. 1 U18 player. Keely, a 6-3 guard/forward, was ranked as the No. 3 U18 player. They both competed for Australia at the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championships. Last season, they led the U18 North Queensland team to its first national championship with Keely averaging 19.1 points and 11.8 rebounds and Alicia averaging 16.1 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.6 blocks.
This is what we wrote about them in our International Recruiting Service:
…Both are big bodied, wide frame with long arms. Very strong athletes who run extremely well. Solid rebounders and defenders. Both score around the basket well but can both play positions three through five. They are both gaining attention throughout the US. Both are quality mid-to-high major players. Currently Alicia is more advanced but both will be strong additions to any USA mid-to-high major program.
23 players we covered in our last International Recruiting Digest have signed with Division 1 schools. Many were very under-recruited.
